Din Tai Fung Manila

The brand new Din Tai Fung in Manila is just a surprise. Despite the heavy Manila traffic, we traveled all the way to SM Megamall for a quick lunch.  Thanks @riarecommends!

When you get to the front, you’ll immediately be seated and given a number. Like lining up outside the gates of heaven, they sit you in a row of chairs waiting for  your number to get called. We ordered while waiting for a table.

When you get to your table, you’ll be given some sort of basket (that looks like a hamper) to put your bags in. A nice touch to potentially curb snatchers that frequent places like Megamall.

The place is well lit. A stark contrast from the old dimly lit restaurants that attract those pesky critters in the dark.

Waitstaff are well trained with Quick service. They carry around lapel microphones to communicate with each other. If I’m not mistaken, some are even flown in—I asked a waiter for a glass of water her Asian/Chinese accent revealed itself.

Final Thoughts

It’s like Jade Garden 2.0 or better. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area. Oh, also great value for money.
