The World We Live In Exhibit

I personally felt bored with ‪#‎ArtFairPh‬ this year. So I went next door where the Cindy Sherman print is exhibited.

The Ayala Museum is having an exhibit on contemporary photography. It features prints from Steve McCurry. Annie Leibovitz. Plus monochrome work by Sebastiao Salagado. Other photographers include Robert Polidori and Edward Burtynsky.

My favorites:

Sebastiao Salgado – Dinkas

Dinkas
Salgado had very consistent photos and I find his black and white work interesting because of all the layers and textures.

Steve McCurry - The Afghan Girl

The Afghan Girl

McCurry has and always been a favorite of mine with his interesting subjects full of color.

Annie Leibovitz -Cindy Sherman

Cindy Sherman

Annie Leibovitz with her provocative portraits of famous people were strong and iconic. Most of Annie’s work were printed using archival pigment ink. It just felt so different because I’ve never seen these photographs larger than what I see in books.

Some are Silver Gelatin Prints, Ultrachrome Print and Chromogenic Prints.

The exhibit runs from February 17 to March 27, 2016 (Tuesday to Sunday, 9 am to 6 pm).
